Programmes/ Events - 2011

The 19th Anniversary Programme of Vintage Heritage is scheduled on Sunday, 19th June, 2011, at the P.S. Senior Secondary School Campus, Mylapore, at 6.30 p.m. "Nadigar Thilagamum Naattiya Peroliyum" is the topic with focus on their films in 1950s.
















Vintage Heritage, on 29.05.2011, conducted a video presentation of Enga Veettu Mahalakshmi, a 1957 film. Sri Sarveswaran, Secretary, took pains to collect and compile the video presentations and Mr. Sundar introduced the film to the audience.

3-G SPECTRUM - Govindarajan, Ghantasala and Govindarajulu Naidu.

A thematic programme focusing on three legendary contributors of Tamil Film Music, viz. Dr. Seergaazhi Govindarajan, Ghantasala and M. Govindarajulu Naidu, was presented, at Sri Vivekananda Hall, P.S. Higher Secondary School, Mylapore, Chennai, on 22.04.2011. The topic of research covered the songs by these stalwarts. To name a few

Dr. Seergazhi Govindarajan - songs from Gomathiyin Kadhalan, Thaai Magalukku Kattiya Thaali, Vanangamudi.
Ghantasala - Rare gems from Kanavane Kan Kanda Dheivam, Paropakaram, Bale Raman.
M. Govindarajulu Naidu - Raja Bakthi, Bhagdad Thirudan, Kalvanin Kadhali, Andaman Kaidhi.





















Thiru Ragapravaaham Sundar explained the theme and the nuances of the songs.

is an organisation for doing academic research on vintage South Indian Films, with focus on Tamil films in particular. Based in Chennai, this is in vogue for more than 3 decades. A brief write up will follow shortly, covering the events organised, programmes conducted etc.
